Collapse
The COLLAPSE series addresses formal concerns of process, time, material and shape. Every sculpture starts from a three-dimensional geometry, and object or shape in physical space; this series intention is to add a further dimension, that of time, to the work. Using rigid and inert materials, movement is created and the fall or collapse is captured and frozen in time. With this series I raise questions about impermanence, the fleeting quality of all human structures and endeavors, and the way we perceive time. It is a reflection upon human transience, balance, momentum and causality.
